Rob was born and raised in Southern California, and developed an affinity for film music at an early age. Although he had no formal training as a child, he spent hours analyzing the scores of John Williams and how they worked in collaboration with film. Rob picked up the guitar at age 13, and spent the next five years embracing the instrument and learning how to write.

In 1997, after years of collaborating with other live musicians, Rob relocated to Denver where he found his love for composition reborn at a local university. Rob took private classical guitar and voice lessons, and began to teach himself piano in preparation for a career as a composer under the tutelage of composer and Professor Kevin Kennedy of the Lamont School of Music at DU. After a year at the University of New Mexico in 2002, Rob made his way back to California with a transfer into California State University Northridge.

Rob studied under seasoned composer Chris Young (Spiderman III, The Grudge, Ghost Rider), where he sharpened his orchestration, mixing, and marketing skills. As an intern for another rising LA composer, Rob assisted with organization, appointment setting, marketing and spotting films. Rob has had formal training in classical guitar, and has been playing electric and acoustic guitar for over a decade. He is also proficient in piano, and uses these capabilities in his scoring process.

Rob is influenced by a variety of composers. Christophe Beck's scores for television opened up the world of film scoring to Rob, and over the years he's been inspired by Brian Tyler, Hans Zimmer, Michael Giacchino, Jeff Beal and Harry Gregson-Williams, just to name a few. Rob continues to listen actively to new releases in order to stay fresh and competitive with his own compositions.

Rob's first full year of business in 2006 yielded 16 short films, including additional music that appeared in the nationally syndicated PBS show Roadtrip Nation, and a festival submission in the Delaware Valley Film Festival for the short film "Breathing Underwater." Rob capped off the year with an award for Best Short Film in the Destricted Competition on Shootingpeople.com in November for the short film "Footsie."

In 2007, he scored "3 Down," which was screened at both the Phoenix Film Festival and the Women's International Film Festival in Miami. Also, Rob scored the short film Bag for EJ Pictures as a submission to the 168 Hour Film Festival, and the film took home the prize for Best Comedy. He also provided music for the film Ride, El, which is screening at the Austin Women's Film Festival in April. Rob's score for the period film "Until Next Time" won him a Silver Medal of Excellence at the 2008 Park City Music festival, as well as a Best in the Fest award at the 2007 IndieFest Festival in Anaheim, CA. Rob also scored the documentary "Railfans: Chasing Trains," which is being shopped around at the 2008 Cannes Festival in France.

In 2008, Rob put the finishing touches on his scores for the horror feature "Eyes of the Woods," comedy "Outrighteous,"and his largest production to date, the Lifeline Entertainment thriller "Amhurst" with director Rocky Costanzo. Amhurst premiered in March to a a packed house in Huntington Beach, CA, and Rob is currently working on remixing cues for a soundtrack release. Rob's latest project is "Broken Hearts Club" with writer/director Angelo Bell and 319 Productions. The score will include live instruments combined with Rob's custom virtual orchestra. He has also started prep work for the Lifeline Entertainment feature "11:11," slated for the fall.
